About shiny object syndrome
This syndrome really pulls away from your life.
Put simply, shiny object syndrome is when you keep jumping/hopping from one project or endeavour to the next because the next one seems more promising.
I’m a sincere victim of this.
I started making youtube videos. But then, Instagram reels seemed to be all the rage. Then, all of a sudden, came Linkedin and email newsletters.
The problem with all of this is that you end up with nothing. And you know why is it so? Because you lose focus.
Focus is critical to progress. You can’t be distracted all the time and then expect to do well in any sphere of life.
And shiny object syndrome is the absolute worst enemy of focus.
Well, how to get out of this then?
I reckon it requires locking in on something. Because, everything will become boring after a period of time. You have to get comfortable with the boring parts to be able to achieve something.
Tell me, what are you focusing on? Or are you also a victim to shiny object syndrome?
